Well, now that is good news to me because I cannot tolerate vitamin C. Once, I was sick and this doctor gave me vitamin tablets. So, I took it home and swallowed them diligently. A few hours later, I started to purge. And I didn’t know why. And I kept taking the vitamin C like all good patients did. And from minor purging, I ended up with severe stomach cramps that made me faint.
Still, it never occured to me it could be the vitamin C. And the next round, I ended up with the same situation. It was only the third time that I realised it was the vitamin C that made me sicker. I also couldn’t tolerate mangoes or any kind of fruits too much or else, I will end up with stomach cramps that feel like being sliced by knives.
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - For the average person, popping vitamin C pills is unlikely to ward off the common cold or shorten its length or severity. However, for people exposed to short bouts of extreme physical exercise or cold temperatures, vitamin C may markedly reduce their risk of catching a cold.
The findings stem from a review of 30 published studies involving 11,350 people who took at least 200 milligrams of vitamin C each day.
Based on pooled data, regular ingestion of vitamin C did nothing to lower the risk of the common cold in the ordinary population, report reviewers in the latest issue of The Cochrane Library, a publication of the Cochrane Collaboration, an international organization that evaluates medical research.
Now, I don’t feel so bad for not eating enough fruits.

Hmm.. you seem to be allergic to Vit C and this is unusual! Somehow, it’s one of my ‘must haves’ to boost that immune system and maintain overall body health and wellness. I guess it doesn’t work for everyone
